103 On Blogging: Quality Content

This is important. If you have nothing to say, say nothing. Make sure that your content is somehow useful to others. My best interest is in practical tips & hints, so I focused on giving those. They might have been small hints like “use forum signatures” but not everybody is a professional, and you have to learn these lessons somewhere. I decided that I would focus on writing practical hints & tips for game producers (and since game producers need to know marketing, it was natural to write about it). The majority of my articles are totally unique written based on my own experience. Naturally I have news items and quotes from other blogs, but even then I try to give my personal touch when telling about them. For example: one guy (on other website, not mine) wrote an article where he listed “10 things about something”. I told about this article in my site, but instead of quoting directly I gave link to the article, wrote the sub-headlines and commented how I felt about these lessons. Like for example, let’s suppose he had said: “Lesson #3: Company X sucks because bla bla blah” then I would have written “Lesson #3: According to him Company X sucks, and I agree that Company X made a mistake in this case but I still they have good products N and M”. This way I could provide unique content and tell my own thoughts rather than just quoting directly that “one guy made INTERESTING post, read here:”. Providing value and unique content helps.

this is another good way to get traffic. I have made some interviews with major companies in the gaming business (and I’m adding more). While this takes longer than “normal articles” these have been one key reasons that cause other sites to link to my site. Major websites are interested to hear interviews. Let’s suppose your website is about marketing. Can you get some marketing experts to give you an interview? I’m sure there’s always somebody willing to give you an interview if you briefly explain what your site is, how many visitor it gets, and how the interview would benefit the other party. You might even give some incentive (like monthly link, banner ad or money to get somebody to talk). I never given links, ad slots or money to interview people since I know that there’s people who will be glad to get interviewed. While some people have rejected my offers, I have got interviewed by some major characters in the gaming business. After you’ve got one major guy to be interviewed, it gets easier to get new interviews (since you can then mention “I’ve interviewed CEO of company X and the link to his interview is <here>” – this is almost like a testimonial for some companies).

101 on blogging for traffic

I’ve crossed the $100k mark, after only a year and a half of serious online work, and the DP community has helped me to do it. Now I want to give back by providing all of you with the method. I believe that this won’t hurt my business, as there are more than enough niches out there for all of us.

1 – Create an obscure subdomain of a site you already own (no need to spend money). Make the name very hard to guess (like “gghhsstrte33vcvcst16.yourdomain.com”

2 – Create a robots.txt to prevent the secret domain from being indexed by any search engines.

3- Get a PLR article pack, with at least 1000 articles spread across 10 or more niches.

4- Get a PLR Spinner app (Google it, they all do the same thing really) and spin them all.

5- Install WordPress on your secret site (mentioned in step 1)

6- Create categories for all of your niches

7- Add the spun articles to each category

8- create 10 subdomains (one for each niche) and name them for that niche. (i.e. Book-lovers.yourdomain.com, Car-enthusiast-blog.yourdomain.com)

9- Install WordPress on all of these and customize them as you see fit.

10- Install the FeedWordPress plugin to each, and set it to grab only 1 article at a time, once per day, and to link the posts to the local site (not the source site)

11- Install the WP-Autotagger plugin to each

12- Install any signature plugin (to add a backlink to your blog within each post) and set it to add the signature by default

13- Add your niche blogs to all major search engines

14- Pay a small fee to add your niche blogs to at leas 1 PR4 directory each

15- Find a copy of RSSAnnouncer to add your niche blog RSS feeds to the major RSS directories

16- Monetize your niche blogs (Adsense, Kontera, etc)

17- install a keyword context link plugin (to link certain keywords automatically to affiliate sites of your choice)

18- Get headshots of attractive people from any royalty-free source

19- Setup a twitter account for each blog and add one of the headshots obtained in step 18 to each

20- Install the twitter plugin to each blog and set it to update the twitter account associated to the niche blog

21- Sit back and watch the money flow in.

22- Every couple of months add more PLR articles to the appropriate categories of your hidden blog.

23- Every month log into each twitter account and follow at least 100 new people (there will probably be an application available within the next year to do this automatically)

I hope this helps all of you make lots of money with blogs. As I said, there are enough niches out there that I feel perfectly comfortable sharing this info.

How to become an Advent Marketer

WOO! I’m back, from a very long vacation, God it feels good to get alil R&R. Now that I’m back, I guess I should start giving you all the Cool stuff that I found while I was away, Although the learning experience was wild, it was an experience.

 

While I was away, I ran into a Web MASTER Marketer, his name is Mack, I met him in Jamaica and he was also on vacation.

We drank a few beers and went fishing together, then he started rambling on about his marketing business…..he teaches peoples how to market.

I got alil arrogant thinking i know all there is about marketing and ignored his rambling…then he told me something that I thought was stupid!

He told me that he could make me 1k before morning, and I was thinking (PPPFFT! Bull!!). So he proceeds to tell me, “If you make less than 1k by the end of the day, I personally will buy you a seafood dinner.”

My EYES widen, of course I would not turn down a FREE lobster dinner, I said “DONE”. My mouth was watering for that nice Lobster Dinner, I knew I had this in the bag!

“But” he proceeded to say “if I get you 1k or more, you have to PROMISE that you would promote my training”, of course I was thinking (yeah..whatever…), So We shook on it.

Anywho, he taught me something about Google AdWords…it took us about 15-20mins, then we continued to go back to fishing till it got so dark, the only light we seen is the moon. We both was tired, we packed up and went to bed.

The next morning the day has started, and I was doing my daily surf on the web (screwing off really). I didnt bother to check in my invoice cause I felt in my heart that Mack was BSing me. Then Mack calls me on my cell.

‘YO! whatcha get?” he said with a content voice, I told him I didnt check yet, then started to check my invoice for the hell of it…..and to my surprise

He got me 3k……..I was happy but then sad…I really wanted that free meal. He laughed so hard at me…and said to me ” SEEE! i toldcha”.
